What is Nordic Walking for Fitness?
Nordic Walking is a whole-body aerobic activity that gives your walking a boost with the addition of specially designed walking poles.
Nordic Walking for Fitness emphasizes the “fitness” aspect of Nordic Walking, providing progressive techniques to get the most benefit from this cardio workout.
Who can Participate?
Nordic Walking for Fitness is designed for those who want to walk 45-60 minutes or 1-3 miles at an average pace, and who are interested in increasing their aerobic activity.
Sessions will start with the basic walking techniques and progress to include fitness and hiking techniques suitable for any walking pace, duration or distance.
How does it work?
A series of 4-8 sessions will cover progressive techniques with individual attention to each participant, starting with the basic walking techniques and progress to include fitness and hiking techniques suitable for any walking pace, duration or distance.
This program also includes stretching, flexibility, balance and strength exercises beneficial to any walking program.
Poles will be provided, participants are asked to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.
