Another Local Walking Opportunity:
Walk with a Doc is a nationally recognized walking program created by David Sabgir, M.D., a practicing, board-certified cardiologist based in Ohio.
After his first year in practice, when his patients began coming back for their annual follow-ups, he realized they weren’t exercising any more than when he’d seen them a year earlier.
So he invited his patients to join him on a morning walk—and the “Walk with a Doc” movement was born.
Their mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and well-being of the country.
Today, 10 years later, the program is a national movement, with more than 228 Walk Chapters in 40 states and seven countries.
The Walk with a Doc program in Chicago is led by Elizabeth McAninch, MD, Rush University Medical Center, walks are held at Maggie Daley Park. Check out this Chicago page for dates, times and meeting location.
