Whole Person Wellness is a comprehensive approach to personal wellness that is based on a six-dimensional model credited to Jan Montague, MGS.

Nordic Walking can support 4 of the six dimensions:

Physical             Fun and engaging fitness activity

                           Weight management benefits

                           Improves functional abilities

                           Encourages healthy lifestyle habits

Social                 Includes interaction with other participants

                           Supports participation in outdoor activities

                           Enhances self-efficiency

Emotional          Reduces depression

                           Enhances self-esteem and feelings of independence

Intellectual         Engages participants to learn new activities
